This time I want to share my
experience about nature field trip in Toraja Regency.
Now as usual to fill the
time during the trip, each participant who took turns alternately provided
information about knowledge about a tourist destination.
The trip to Toraja takes
approximately 8-9 hours. So for lunch we stopped at one of the Barru district
restaurants called Kupa Beach Restaurant & Cottages. After that we
continued the journey and stopped again to rest at one of the favorite places
in Enrekang Regency, the tourist attraction of Buttu Kabobong, while relaxing
drinking warm tea accompanied by beautiful natural scenery.
After that we
returned to continue the journey to the district of Toraja. Arriving in the
Toraja area we got off the bus to take pictures and as proof of documentation.
then we continue the journey to the hotel located in North Toraja called Indra
Hotel. Arriving at the hotel we were directed to the hotel lobby to be given a
room key. well after that we were directed to the room by a hotel clerk. We
also immediately prepare for dinner at the penyet ria chicken. after eating we
were given a few more directions by kak Yusuf and kak Mifta as the tour liader
and also directions from the accompanying doen. And after that we returned to
the hotel to rest.
Day 2, on Tuesday, October
22, 2019, all participants had breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we
gather and take a picture together before starting the activity. After that, we
took the bus to Timenbayo. On the way to Timenbayo, we saw many Torajans and
saw a traditional house. We started walking from Timenbayo to the Mentirotiku
restaurant.
We passed through the rice fields and while enjoying the natural
scenery. After arriving at Mentirotiku Restaurant, we were given a little
explanation about a typical Toraja food called Pa'piong and after that we had
lunch. After lunch, we continued our journey to Lempo and Bori. There we saw
the making of a traditional Tongkonan house, a Toraja carving, that's where I
explained a little about carving and was given the chance to enter the
Tongkonan house. After that we continued our journey to Tedong Bonga. After
that, we headed to Erong Lombok. There we saw many skulls of Toraja people.
From Erong Lombok, we headed to Todi, to shop for souvenirs. After that, we
returned to the hotel for dinner. We had dinner at one of the best cafes in
Toraja Regency, Aras Cafe. After dinner, we took a picture and sang together.
After that, we returned to the hotel to rest and sleep.
The third day
On October 23 we prepared to
check-out from the hotel. before check-out we say first at the hotel and after
that we take a picture in front of the hotel and besiapa to return to Makassar
but before we still stopped at one of the typical Toraja coffee makers that
have worldwide there we were given the knowledge of toraja coffee while trying
coffee Toraja in question. after that we visited the last destination in tana
toraja namely lakipadada after observation in lakipadada we also continued the
journey back to Makassar.
Like the first day when we went to Toraja we also
stopped again at Mount Buttu Kabobong in Enrekang while taking advantage of the
time to buy souvenirs. After some time there we continued our journey and
stopped at one of the restaurants in the city of Pare-Pare called Terrace
Empang to lunch and afterwards we continue the journey and stop in one of the
traditional houses of the type of Bugis which complains owned by local
residents precisely in Barru district. after observation there we continue the
journey. Do not stop there we also stopped at one of the restaurants called
Suka-like restaurant located near the Grand Mall Maros for dinner. and afterwards
continue the journey back to Makassar. Very much excitement that we get at ssat
in toraja on the way home we use the time separately to share stories about the
experience gained, singing, and many other excitement. And exactly 21:30 at
night we arrived in Makassar precisely on our beloved campus namely Makassar
tourism polytechnic.
